Brochures

Aircraft Industries of Canada Limited

This old brochure was in our family house when I was very young and I decided to preserve it because I was interested in aviation. The Aircraft Industries of Canada Limited company was conducting its business in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu (St. Johns), Quebec, not far from where we lived.  I am glad to show what the brochure looked like, for everybody who loves aviation history. Every page is there, in order.

Very nice to see. I was born in St Jean (St John at the time) in the early 50’s and used to watch the aircraft coming and going often. I would go by the entrance by the military base to watch the RCAF planes being worked on there. I even worked for a time at the flying club Richelair that was there. Great memories. Thanks for sharing

Hey, I am glad you liked. I found the brochure a long time ago in my father’s files. I also worked at Richelair as a flight instructor for a while and before that, I used to go often at the airport to do like you and watch the aircraft operations. But you were a bit older than me and had access to something that I never saw. Thanks for visiting my blog!

Hi, thanks for this. My Dad, Lawrence (Freeman), worked there on Servos. They had all the family there for a grand event. My Dad took me up the wooden stairs and up into the aircraft. He said, this is Carole, my oldest child, to all the guys sitting there in the plane. The women and other kids stayed in another room chatting and tables with food nearby.

How interesting! Thanks for your comment. You are the proof that it is always worthwhile to take the time to post historical documents on the web. I am glad that you witnessed a bit of what was done in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu at the time with regards to aviation. If you have photos of the people, aviation plant or any publicities related to that company in St-Jean, feel free to send me a copy and I will post it. Thanks for stopping by!
